What is actor Priyanka Chopra doing in Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One? An item number, as rumoured? No, there is no item number. Neither any romantic scene. In fact, as sources in the unit suggest, she would be seen doing an ‘item-action-sequence’ as actor Sanjay Dutt’s sidekick in the film.
Also, it is said that Priyanka will have superhuman capabilities so that she matches up to Shah Rukh on the screen in the action sequence, believed to be one of the highlights of the movie.
“Shah Rukh never wanted Priyanka as an item girl and neither was Priyanka willing to do it. So, everybody thought it is a great idea to have a big fight between Sanjay and Shah Rukh and since Priyanka is on Sanjay’s side, she will also match up to Shah Rukh in terms of powers. It will be a high point in the film and Shah Rukh will be seen struggling against the joint attack. Yes, ultimately he wins but it is not an easy win,” the unit member adds.
Though some sources suggest that Priyanka is playing a robot in the film, the unit member didn’t want to reveal more about her character.
“She is capable of superhuman capabilities which have been gifted to her in a scientific laboratory. Basically every character has got their capabilities from science. All the characters are a collection of energies, like Shah Rukh is electricity (he gets his energy feed from lightning) while Arjun draws his power from the Sun. Sanjay will also draw his power from an energy source who will be against Shah Rukh. Priyanka is assisting Sanjay but doesn’t have a romantic link with him,” the source adds.
Revealing more of the storyline, the source adds the plot of Ra.One revolves around Shah Rukh protecting actress Kareena Kapoor from the evil forces.
“Shah Rukh is protecting Kareena from the evil forces who are out there to kill her. Shah Rukh’s mission is to save her life. A little bit of Terminator is there, but Shah Rukh falls in love with her too,” the source adds saying Kareena ‘might’ be playing a single mother in the film.
