She’s back and she’s raring to take on Bollywood single-handedly. After having created news both in India and Pakistan with her stint in the last season of Bigg Boss, Veena Malik is now preparing for her debut in Bollywood with Dal Mein Kuch Kala Hai. And for those who couldn’t seem to get enough of the actor, the good news is that this one’s a double role.

“It’s a hilarious comedy and there’s enough scope for performance,” informs Veena, adding, “Dal... is not a typical comedy. There are a few important characters, but I play the central role. Moreover, both the characters are very different from each other and I was very particular about maintaining that difference.”

If two Veenas on screen wasn’t enough, there’s an item number in the pipeline too which will be finalised soon. But whatever she does, Veena confesses that Bigg Boss will always remain special to her. “Wherever I go, that’s the only thing people keep asking me about. In fact, I think this phase will be on till I get my next project,” she states. Of course, she is still in touch with co-participant and now, close friend Ashmit Patel. “He’s the most beautiful person I’ve ever met. Considering he’s quite a stud, I think hosting his new show comes easy,” she says.

In spite of being a successful film and television actor in Pakistan, Veena confesses to not having much of an idea about Bollywood even after her reality show was over. “As I got briefed, Bollywood sounded like a fairytale to me. And as I kept getting offers, I realised that the industry wants to welcome me just as Indians want to see me on screen,” she says, adding, “I have been working since I was 16 and have been through a lot of adversities. I can take the good and bad in my stride easily now because I know my conscience is clear.”

Being tagged a sex symbol is something Veena is indifferent about. “When I look at myself in the mirror, I don’t see anyone sexy, I see a simple girl. But I also believe that being called sexy is synonymous to beauty, so why not?” she ends.
