(Colombo Lankapuvath) President Mahinda Rajapaksa addressing the Nation on Independence Day today to mark the 64th independence commemoration from the historic city of Anuradhapura said the Parliamentary Select Committee was the best process to find a solution to the ethnic crisis than depending on foreign solutions.
Speaking further the President called upon the people to unite to develop the country in the manner in which they united to crush the LTTE war.He pointed out that actions against the Executive was democracy all people must respect the judiciary and the rule of law.
He noted that the Government had taken steps to implement the recommendations of the LLRC report within six weeks of the release of that report.
The President further said the people enjoyed true freedom of Independence after gaining independence only after the LTTE war was crushed three years ago.
