(Colombo, Lankapuvath) - Mothers of the country have now come to build a strong nation, said president Mahinda Rajapakse.
Addressing a gathering of Politicians, professionals, intellectuals and businessmen at Janadhipathi Mandiraya in Kandy yesterday (03) President noted that there was a notable decline recorded in the women searching for foreign employment as housemaids. However, the demands for skilled workers mainly males have increased by 54 per cent during the past few years, the President said.
The President further stated that mothers of this country now have more time for their children and they could help the government by providing educated and well discipline children.
The economic development in the country has recorded an upward trend while the country’s income level has shown positive improvements, President pointed out.
He also revealed that plenty of job opportunities were available in the country. The unemployment ratio has decreased by 4 per cent, the President noted.
