India rocks following shooting in Sikh temple in Austria

(Colombo-Lankapuvath-May 26) Fierce riots sparked in several Northern Indian cities after shooting in Sikh temple in Austria. Two preachers were shot over a dispute about the role of castes in the Sikh religion. One of them died after undergoing surgery.

A guru named Sant Rama Nand, died and 16 people were injured in Vienna attack. Six suspects were taken into custody and four of them have been identified asylum-seekers in Austria.

In India, thousands of people set fire to several trains and other properties and their response was horrible. Indian Premier Manmohan Singh said that he is deeply distressed by the attack and appealed from people to be calm.
