| President meets former Nepalese Premiere |

(Colombo Lankapuvath October 30) President Mahinda Rajapaksa was given a warm and rousing welcome by Sujatha Koirala , Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal and Dr. Minendra Rijal Parliamentary and Cultural Affairs Minister on behalf of the Nepalese government yesterday (29). This is President' Second visit in the last few months. His first visit had to be disrupted when terrorists attacked the Sri Lanka cricket team in Lahore Pakistan in his previous visit. Former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal praised the Sri Lankan leader and the Government for eradicating the 30 year long menace of terrorism. He said this at a meeting held between him and visiting Sri Lankan President yesterday (29). He also praised the government’s development programme and the leadership provided to it by the President. President Rajapaksa said that his visit to Nepal would help further strengthen the relationship between the two countries which dates back several years. President Rajapaka is expected to attend a special meeting between businessmen and heads of chambers of commerce of the two countries tonight. Tomorrow he will preside over the opening of the Sri Lanka Maha Vihara in Lumbini in Nepal. President Rajapaksa is accompanied by Ministers Rohitha Bogollagama, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Tissa Karalliyadda, Mervin Silva and several other Government representatives.
