(Colombo Lankapuvath) An unexpected death took place in Palliwasalthure area when 32 year old Gunawardhena Liyanarachige Chaminda Sampath a resident of Bellanthare, Palliwasalthure area tried to open a king coconut by using a bomb which has a sharp pointed edge yesterday evening (21).

Police investigations reveal that the victim along with two others had found this unexploded bomb in the Air Force camp in Palliwasalthure area taken it to a coconut estate and then has tried to pierce it using the 1 feet lengthy explosive.

His corpse is kept now in the main hospital mortuary of Puttalam. The Post mortem test is due today (22) and further investigations are carried out by the Kalpitiya Police.
