(Colombo Lankapuvath November 27) The International Cricket Stadium in Pallakele Kandy was declared open today (27).

The stadium which can accommodate 30 000 spectators is one of the venues of the upcoming 2011 World cup. Accordingly 03 world cup matches will be played at the stadium in Pallakekele.

The touring Bangladesh Under 19 team will play a warm up match at the newly constructed stadium today against Sri Lanka Board XI.

Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka Under 19 teams will take part in a Tri Nation one day series prior to the upcoming Under 19 World Cup tournament scheduled to kick off in New Zealand in Januaray.

The tournament will commence on the 29th of November at the Pallekele between Pakistan and Bangladesh U-19 teams.
